We protect children, strengthen families, and equip young people to thrive—through safe care, quality education, health, livelihoods, and climate resilience.
Save Street Children Uganda (SASCU) is a Christ-centered, non-profit organization committed to transforming the lives of street children, unaccompanied refugee children, and vulnerable young women in Uganda. Registered in Uganda (REG NO S.5914/8183) and in the United States as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity (EIN 45-2822269), SASCU is dedicated to embodying Christ’s love by offering a safe haven to those with nowhere else to turn, providing not only a secure home but also practical support and compassionate spiritual care.
Imagine the life-changing impact you can have on a child. Sponsorship is more than an opportunity to provide education; it’s a way to offer essential support that meets a child’s fundamental needs, empowering them to achieve their dreams and thrive.
At SASCU, children are waiting for someone like you to step in and make a lasting difference. Through sponsorship, you can give a child hope, love, and the resources they need to succeed.
This is your chance to join their journey and transform a life forever. Together, we can shape a brighter future for these young hearts.
Choose hope. Choose love. Choose to sponsor a child today.
How much does it cost to sponsor a child?
• $100 monthly provides full support for a residential child at Providence Farm.
• $50 monthly supports a vulnerable child within their community.
If you feel led to partially sponsor a child, we encourage you to invite a friend or family member to join you, so that together, you can fully support a child’s journey to growth and faith.
Let’s link arms, stepping forward together to bring the love of Christ to those who need it most.
Over the past two decades, SASCU has walked alongside children, young people, and families facing the hardest forms of adversity—rescuing children from the streets, restoring safety and dignity, and strengthening pathways to healing, education, and self-reliance. The numbers below represent real lives changed and communities strengthened through consistent, accountable, and child-centered action. Behind every figure is a child with a name, a story, and a future—and our commitment to ensure every child has the chance to thrive.

including local government, cultural, and faith leaders engaged through structured dialogues and capacity-building to strengthen community-level prevention and response to child protection risks. These initiatives advance gender-transformative parenting, positive social norms, and shared responsibility frameworks that reduce tolerance for abuse and harmful practices. Leaders are equipped to amplify safeguarding messages, support survivor-centered reporting and referrals, and improve coordination to prevent and respond to abuse, violence, and exploitation affecting children and young people.
SASCU responds to the forces that push children, young people, and vulnerable women into harm—and we respond early, holistically, and with measurable solutions. We focus on the root drivers of vulnerability as well as the urgent protection needs we see every day in Uganda’s communities and on the streets. Through prevention, rescue, recovery, and long-term resilience, we strengthen families, restore dignity, and build safe environments where every child can grow, learn, and thrive.
Poverty drives families to make harmful choices, such as sending children and young people to the streets, into early marriage, commercial sex or exploitative labour. SASCU responds by expanding access to quality education, healthcare, and income-generating opportunities. We provide social assistance, vocational training, and caregiver empowerment, especially for most vulnerable households. Through tailored livelihood programs, we build economic resilience and reduce exposure to harm.
SASCU is committed to addressing the abuse, violence, and exploitation of children, young people, and women in all spaces where they live and interact. This includes responding to situations where children face emotional, physical or sexual abuse, or are forced into child labour or early marriage. We tackle the violence and discrimination young people especially girls, experience in families, schools and communities. We also respond to the exploitation of women and girls, including trafficking, sexual exploitation and gender-based violence, by strengthening protection systems and provision of direct support to those affected. Through integrated programs, we aim to prevent harm and create safer, more supportive environments for those most vulnerable.
SASCU leads rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration efforts for street-connected children, young people and women. We provide safe shelter, trauma-informed psychosocial care, educational reintegration, and long-term protection services to enable complete return to normalcy. Through strong partnerships with families, communities, social groups and relevant institutions, we tackle root causes like neglect, poverty, abuse, and conflict. Our life skills and vocational trainings help prepare children, young people and women for self-reliant lives.
Displacement—whether due to conflict, disasters, or economic hardship—disrupts human development and well-being. SASCU delivers integrated services to displaced children, young people, women and their families: protection, education, health care, and livelihoods. Our approach strengthens coordination with the Office of the Prime Minister, UN bodies, and INGOs to ensure inclusive access to services and reduce dependency among refugees including other forcibly displaced persons and host communities.
Uganda's children, young people and women are increasingly affected by environmental disasters. SASCU addresses this by integrating climate change adaptation and mitigation into all programs. We promote agroecology, afforestation, and wetland restoration in affected areas. We engage children, young people and women in environmental clubs, awareness campaigns, and nature-based solutions that enhance resilience and inspire climate-conscious behaviors. Our climate action is rooted in the recognition that there is a link between environmental stress and vulnerability.
Do you feel God leading you to join our cause of defending the fatherless and ensuring that no child lives on the street, but you don’t know how to be apart of this ministry? God has uniquely gifted each of us with different resources, talents, and passions to build his Kingdom. We can’t do it alone, but together, we can accomplish great things!
