PROVIDENCE FARM

A Beacon Of Hope and Sustainability

In the summer of 2016, Save Street Children Uganda (SASCU) embarked on a transformative journey with the support of our staff, children, missionary volunteers, and local workers. Together, we began developing land that had been generously donated to us, which we named Providence Farm a name chosen to reflect our faith that “God will provide.” Thanks to generous donations, we built a large goat shelter, cleared land, and planted eucalyptus trees, vegetables, and maize. Most importantly, we constructed a well that provides fresh water to Providence Farm. In 2024, we took another giant step by constructing a solar-powered deep water well, securing a reliable water source for the farm’s growing needs. This well was designed not only to meet current demands but also to support future water extensions to Providence Farm and to nearby communities. Every project at Providence Farm reflects our vision of achieving sustainability and self-reliance for our ministry and the children we serve.

CHILDRENS VILLAGE

A Home For New Beginnings

In alignment with our mission to provide a safe, loving, and sustainable home for vulnerable orphans, we began plans to build a Children’s Village at Providence Farm. Through prayer, hard work, and generous donations, we have made remarkable progress.

In 2017, we completed the Missionary House, providing housing for Innocent, Gloria, and visiting missionary volunteers. In 2018, the girls’ dormitory was constructed, followed by the boys’ dormitory in 2019. That same year, we built an outdoor kitchen to prepare meals for the children, staff, and volunteers. By early 2019, we began filling the new dorms with orphaned boys and girls, providing them with a safe, nurturing environment and access to daily schooling.

Through generous donations in 2020 and 2021, a 7-bedroom house was constructed to provide additional safe housing for our children and staff. We are forever grateful for the continuous support that has made these milestones possible.

2023 Goals Reached: A Year of Trials and Triumphs

2023 was a challenging year for SASCU, but also one of immense growth. We received an eviction notice for our Kampala property, where we had cared for 44 rescued homeless and refugee children and provided Christ-centered education for 157 community orphans. The deadline to vacate was set for December 31st, 2023. Faced with the risk of having these children displaced, we pleaded for an extension, but it was not granted.

At a time when hope seemed lost, God revealed His mercy. On October 18th, 2023, our staff and children gathered for a moment of prayer and worship, and by the next day, we stepped forward in faith, beginning the construction of a new dormitory at Providence Farm with just $3,000 in hand. Much like the biblical story of Jesus feeding 5,000 with two fish and five loaves, God multiplied our resources. Donations came from unexpected sources, many of whom were strangers, now beloved members of the SASCU family. On February 11th, 2024, we joyfully opened the doors of the Seed of Faith Dormitory, welcoming 44 children into their forever home.

Trusting God for the Future

We are grateful for all the prayers, donations, and unwavering support that have made these achievements possible. However, we know the journey is not yet over. As we work toward building a sustainable and self-reliant ministry, we are trusting God to continue to provide for our ministry needs and our projects, especially income-generating initiatives.

Every step forward is a testament to God’s provision and the generosity of our partners, without whom none of this would be possible. We remain committed to our mission of creating a safe, nurturing home for vulnerable children and empowering them to grow in faith and purpose.

From all of us at Providence Farm, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has walked this journey with us. Thank you for being part of our story, and thank you for believing in the vision of Save Street Children Uganda and Providence Farm—a place where hope, faith, and love thrive.
