SASCU carries out advocacy for children’s rights at local and national level which entails identifying policy advocacy opportunities, generating evidence on emerging child rights issues relating to children living on the street and other categories to inform the advocacy agenda. SASCU uses community mobilization, dialogues, sensitization and awareness creation of parents and caregivers and other child protection duty bearers on key child rights issues including protection.
We work towards ensuring formulation and enforcement of bi-laws and policies that protect street and other vulnerable children. SASCU engages in advocacy with likeminded organizations to lobby and advocate for the protection of street children from child abuse, child neglect and child labour. SASCU uses media as a channel of reaching communities and other actors on the plight of street and other vulnerable children.
